Yesterday Barbie turned the big 5-0. I just loved Barbie dolls when i was younger. I had so many. I have heard people say that Barbie is a bad role model for young girls. Personally, I think that's silly. Now Brattz dolls, they are weird. What do you think of Barbie dolls?

In random world news - Someone spotted a pink dolphin in an American lake the other day. Apparently its not a hoax, but rather a rare albino dolphin. Preeeettttyyyy. Click HERE to read one story about "pinky".
(Note: I've always loved dolphins, but i must admit i love them a bit more now that they come in pink too.)
a pink dolphin!? didnt we all love barbies. I dont think there is anything wrong with it.
ReplyDeleteWow great blog.Looks like you and I are doing the same things this week, lol.I had an appoitnment for color but my beautician is sick.UGH! I was soooooo disapointed dont go now til next tuesday.Im kind of wiery to do my own hair. The pepperoni pizza I had last night.very good stuff but fattening,I dont eat it often so yum it was good.Barbie is 50 yes I did a blog on her yesterday, amazing, loved my barbie. But as I said on my blog I wish I had the one that now sold for 27,000.Pink dolphin, ha I will have to check the latest on that, would be really interesting to see.
ReplyDeleteOmg I want that dolphin. How pretty.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the home hair dye job work out well. It is encouraging to me to save the bundle of cash and use it towards important bills.
ReplyDeletePink Dolphin!! Eee!
Barbie-- loved her. But I was always jealous of my friends' collections.
Did somebody say "PIZZA?!" It's the S.O.'s birthday today, so we're indulging yet again!
ReplyDeleteBarbie; I see everyone's point about the bad example, but I don't recall REALIZING any of that as a kid. I suppose that's the whole "subliminal message" thing. I didn't care: she had her own house, drove a motorcycle, was an equestrian, had fourteen different occupations, took care of her sister and cousin, had a S.O. for when she needed him...I thought she was pretty well-rounded!
Barbie was never a bad role model for me! She was independant and professional :) At least my Barbie was ;)
ReplyDeleteahh loved reading about the pink dolphin and most importantly.. in LOVE with what you are wearing to the wedding.. the dress, accesories, shoes are alll perfect! yeah!
ReplyDeleteI used to have a few barbies(we were BrrroooKE!) and my mom would make me clothes for them. LoL. Like little welfare barbie clothes. It was funny.
ReplyDeletePink dolphins? Well, now I know what my next pet will be.
The dolphin is so cute!! Lol, told you box dye wasnt that bad :P hehe
ReplyDeleteOh and barbies rule! I used to give mine haircuts and make clothes for them :P hehe
They say it's not a hoax, but that dolphin just looks TOO pink to me! On the other hand, I've never seen an albino dolphin before so I guess I don't really have anything to compare...
ReplyDeleteIn my home state! SO crazy..
ReplyDeleteI had a lot of trouble concentrating after you mentioned the pizza, had to contain the drool :)
ReplyDeleteJust posted about using box dye as well...turned out okay actually!
ReplyDeleteNow you've made me want pizza...damn.
I've actually paid to pat a pink dolphin in Singapore...we were told that they were the only ones in captivity. Is really weird patting a dolphin.
ReplyDeletemy husband showed me the albino dolphin! that is the coolest thing i've ever seen...and even cooler that its in an american lake! i want to see it in person!
ReplyDeleteI was more of a baby dolls girl. My sister was the one that loved Barbies. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad the hair dye job came out good! :)
Mmmm...pizza is always yum!
ReplyDeleteSo the semi-permanent dye worked out okay? Hasn't it faded too quickly? I believe a lot of these box dyes are working well for people.
Wow, that pink dolphin is really amazing.
the pink dolphin is cool! maybe it's come out in celebration of barbie?!
ReplyDeleteI loved barbies growing up, I only had my mum's old ones for years, but then one christmas I got a ballerina barbie. I played with her for years (though the shoes were lost after about 5 minutes - always the way, no?).
I find Bratz dolls to be very disturbing. can't put my finger on it, but I don't think i'd want kids of mine to be into them.
That dolphin is a bit freaky! Yikes, red eyes!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE BARBIE! Yes I still do. I kept my whole collection for my future daughter. I used to make them clothes and give them fabulous careers, but alas I no longer have the collection because my sister's friend's kids literally ripped them apart. I was distraught when I found heads and arms all over the place.
I suppose I understand where they are coming from re the role model issue, but my barbies were always independent and I don't have any body issues!
it really does give a new meaning Save the Dolphins - collect the whole set ;) I loved Barbie - had a whole bunch of them and the coolest clothes - passed them onto younger cousins... if i had them, i think i'd still dress them up! hahaaa
ReplyDeleteSaw this pink dolphin! When I was in Brazil, I saw albino dolphins that were blind! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteAs for Barbie - I hate her! Sorry... but no one looks like that... Just sayin'.
I was never a big Barbie fan. I preferred to stea my brother's Lego and try to build cars ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe pink dolphin is... interesting?
