Mumblings and ninja leaves

Yesterday was a rather crap day. Nothing profound or blog-worthy happened. The day dragged and the photocopy machine became my enemy..... So, this is why, my dear bloggy friends, I couldnt bring myself to post anything yesterday.

Today is a great day. For 3 main reasons: 1. we are having pizza at work 2. Its the last day of the work week and 3. I feel better than yesterday (notice my nice, long blog post)

Im so happy that its the Easter weekend - Hooray!!! 4 days off! The Boyf and I have been invited to a few things and we are going to a wedding on Saturday. busy, busy. All I know for sure is that this weekend I will be eating alot of food and relaxing.

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend!

The winning answer to my last poll (yes, its over already) question, What's one of the weirdest things Brazen did as a child, was "pretended to play dead to scare my baby sister" with 34% of the votes.
*
The right answer to the question is "ran screaming from leaves". Thats right, I was afraid of leaves when i was very little. I didnt like the crafty way they would twirl in the wind. They looked liked crazed, green ninja's that wanted to attack me (I guess it would be safe to say that I was a rather over dramatic child). I was afraid of quite alot when i was a kid, but leaves were definitely the weirdest fear. *grins*

QUESTION: Were you afraid of anything strange when you were a child?

(Ps - new poll is up!)

  1. Sounds like a fabulous weekend! I am jealous, I have to work tomorrow and I have nothing exciting planned for the weekend.

I don't remember if I was scared of anything strange. I was, however, allergic to elephants and rabbits.. ya I know but I was

    Have a great weekend

  2. My granny made me watch America's Most Wanted and there was this lady on there that I was scared of for years after seeing it. Funny thing is, her crime was killing some people while driving drunk...it wasn't like she was a serial killer or anything, but I was convinced she was going to hunt me down since I had seen her on TV.

  3. I was afraid of something rather strange - tollboth workers. I have no idea where this stemed from. I just know that I thought it was weird to live in a box on the street and collect money. If we were to go through a toll I would hide under seat until we passed.

@ Loretta - This old woman that used to babysit me as a child used to do the same thing! I hated that show and it would give me nightmares...when my mom came to pick up me I used to run and jump in the van so that nobody snatched me from under the car.

Okay - now that you all know how weird I am!

Have a great Easter and enjoy all that food :)

  4. Hurray for Easter weekend! We get 4 days off and I am soooo excited!!!

I was scared of the usual kids' fare: thunder, the dark, and geese. Lol, a group of pissed off geese chased me at the zoo when I was 4 or 5 and I still remember running in sheer terror!! (And I am STILL afraid of them! They're mean and crazy!!)

I was scared of the dark - still am come to think of it. I am something of a coward, so my complete list would be rather long!

  8. I'm glad things are looking up for you for the weekend after such a crappy time yesterday!

As for childhood fear, I think I've mentioned I was afraid of the Jabberwocky from the Alice in Wonderland "Through the Looking Glass" story. I always thought it would come into my room and come after me!

  10. I was TERRIFIED of men. it was hectic. they couldn't really come near me. I even held my breath sometimes when I walked past the more freaky of them.
No idea why. Always wondered what the root of it was.

  14. I am jealous of pizza at work. Mmmmm. So hungry!

I remember I was terrified of storms- much more than the average child. I thought that any time is stormed it was the beginning of a tornado that was going to suck me up. Once, it started to sprinkle and my brother was babysitting me and I fought him to let me leave the house and run to a neighbor's for protection and as a result I ripped one leg of his shorts off.

Yikes. And he is 5 years older than me.

  18. I was afraid of the dark as a child and still am to this day. If the trash is full and needs to be taken out and my husband isnt home to do it, I will tie the full bag off, set it aside near the door and put an new bag in the trash can and wait to take out the full bag until the morning. I am also horribly afraid of heights.... sort of. I am fine on mountains and things that are "stable" but get me on a tall bridge or a tall tower? Forget about it! I guess that is how a fear of heights is for a person who grew up in Southern Califonia!

  22. You know that holey thing in the bath for when it's too full, at the top near the tap?

Yeah I was confinced that there was a monster in there staring at me while I was in there so I always covered it with a face cloth.

I still think the leaves thing is weirder. ;) LOL

Hope you're having a fantastic weekend lovely!
