I popped in the CD and as the first song began to play a rush of happy emotions twirled through me.... I think its safe to assume that a few people in the traffic got to hear my stunning (Ok, maybe a bit out of tune) singing voice this morning *grins*.
While I happily bobbed my head and sang "all I wanna do" at the top of my lungs, I realised just how long it had been since i had last heard Sheryl. It had definitely been way too long....
often I find that listening to an old favourite song, that you haven’t heard in a while, can be just like reconnecting with a long lost friend. It brings up lots of memories and gets you smiling.
Whats one of your favourite old songs that always gets you singing?

It's almost embarrassing...Total Eclipse of the Heart.
ReplyDeleteOh, I totally agree how music brings memories and like connecting with an old friend. I have so many songs that evoke that...
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!!
Sheryl Crow is a distant relative of mine! Our great-grandmothers are sisters. I got to meet her once, she is really cool!
ReplyDeleteAny song that was popular during my high school years does it for me. Totally takes me back.
Omg! Total Eclipse totally rocks. My favourite song to hear is Footloose...just reminds me of dancing and having fun. Also Canned heat by Jamiroquai. Brings back verrrrry good memories!
ReplyDeleteI don't even know. There is just so much MUSIC you know? :)
ReplyDeleteUmm. Maybe Bowling for Soup - Girl all the bad guys want. Seriously - J used to play it for me.
It's a cute song - here are the lyrics: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/bowlingforsoup/girlallthebadguyswant.html

ReplyDelete"I've Seen All Good People" by YES (I'm sure I've embarrassed myself, singing this in my car) and "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell. My cousin and I used to rock out to that one while on the road.
ReplyDeletebon jovi - living on a prayer #blush#
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, since I no longer commute to work, I rarely listen to music while driving. So I am not that into listening to catchy tunes these days. I am more into Ambient and Techno these days while working in the garage. However one tune I can't get out of my head recently is a video recently posted on my blog. It is isn't because of the visusal....it really is a catchy tune. Check out "You've Got My Love".

I recently did a similar thing with one of my old Saves The Day CDs. :) I love revisiting. I find myself relistening to the same CDs again and again.
ReplyDeleteMine's a little silly, but no matter what the song "I Can't Help Myself" always brings a smile to my face. You know the old Four Tops song... sugar pie honey bunch. I'm smiling just typing those four little words. :D
Sheryl is awesome. Embarrasingly, I love me a bit of Hootie and The Blowfish - hannah jane.
ReplyDeleteI want to dance with somebody is also right up there
