Strip Club?

Last weekend my birthday party got very tipsy and before the night was through the word "strip club" was flying around like a demented bird on crack. I vaguely recall a tipsy conversation that went something like this:

tipsy guy pal: lets all go to Mavericks (a strip club)
Tipsy Me: Are you being serious?
tipsy guy pal: Ja, I'll even pay for you and The Boyf to get in
Tipsy Me:, thanks.....and girls are free anyway
tipsy guy pal: True, but i'll still pay for him and if you dont like it you can both leave
Tipsy Me: Dude, if I want to see a hot naked girl i'll just undress and look in a mirror *chuckles*
tipsy guy pal: *laughter * good point, but I still think you guys should still come anyway
Tipsy me: umm...not gonna happen
tipsy guy pal: It will be fun if we all go as couples
Tipsy me: Sorry, but its really not my thing
tipsy guy pal: Maybe you should have a few more drinks and then we will talk
Tipsy me: I'll never be drunk enough to want to go there *grins*
Needless to say some strip club curious people trotted off to Mavericks later that night...without me and The Boyf :)

There is something about half naked (or very naked) women dancing on poles or the thought of The Boyf checking out some strange womans naughty bits (in a public place) that just does not feel cool to me. Maybe to some people this may make me seem insecure or a prude.... but seriously darlings, strip clubs just creep me out and give me "no" feeling.
I definitely don't judge anyone who enjoys watching a good pole dance every now and then, but as far as Im concerned I have no plans of visiting a strip club...well...maybe ever.

What do you think of Strip Clubs?

  1. so glad someone else feels the same way. people always think you are insecure if you dont want to go to strip clubs but its not about that. its seedy and sad and i feel sorry for the girls that make a living like that. its not cool at all and i dont want to support it. just my view :)

  2. now that my post yesterday has got me thinking about the dollar bills in my wallet.. I am kind repulsed. But before that, I am indifferent. I don't care if hubby goes.. I know he's coming home to me.

  3. I've never been to one, but also don't feel the need to. And completely understand why you wouldn't want to go with your friends and boyf. How very odd to suggest it...

  4. No thanks for me either. What is the point?!

  5. Mavericks is the bomb! ;)

Look, I'm no huge fan other than at a bachelors or on golf tour when these places tend to crop up. But as a guy - even though I think a womans body is divine - why watch what you can't touch, for R 1000, every Saturday, just doesn't make sense to me.

What troubles me with these places and unfortunately, I've been witness to this, is when married guys - and even guys with girlfriends - head straight for the 'private area' where they can get anything from a lap dance to a BJ - even a shag - for around R800.

It's disturbing ladies, that these men exsist!

  6. Mmmm. I don't really know what I think of strip clubs. One one hand I find them gross and cheap and stuff, and on another I can see why this would appeal to some men...

    Err wait. What?

Seriously. I wouldn't leave J if he went, but I don't really see me sitting there watching some girl wag her vag in my face.

  7. Ya No, To each their own I guess.

I often joke about it with Adam, but seriously doubt I will ever go to a strip club. I don't ever want to be that close to another girl. (or even a guy that is not my BF) Thankyouverymuch.

And I often told Adam, If he feels inclined to see a stripper, we can put a pole up in the bedroom.

I don't want my man in a shady joint like that, where (as Ches pointed out) - all levels of mankiness takes place.

  8. I don't think I would want to, either. Either the clubs/girls are too yucky or, if it's a "classy" place (lol ;-) then the girls would be too hot. So, I just wouldn't be able to win.

  9. I'm not a fan, but I have been to Teazer's in Durban once about 3 years ago, really to satisfy my own curiosity. I was single at the time, and I'm glad I went because now I don't have to wonder what goes on there, I know. Nothing special really, some of the girls were okay looking, but really, they were mostly bored with their jobs, and the men weren't allowed to touch, which was good!

  10. hmmm not sure. Dave has been to a couple on stag dos - and I can't say that I love it. Don't feel totally wound up and angry if he goes, but would prefer it if he didn't I guess.

  11. not sure if I'd like to go, but won't judge a guy if he did. think it's a huge waste of money. I don't have respect for those girls as I think it's an easy way to make money and I doubt they really tried to do something more prolific. but i do admire some of them. i went to pole dancing lessons and the next day I couldn't walk. you need insane upper body strength. so i'll give them props for that.

  12. I am with you on this one.

  13. ja, not my vibe... gets old in oh about, 2 minutes...

  14. I have been as a couple thing and I'm with you, I happen to be about 20 pounds and don't really feel like looking at naked woman who actually have a decent body. So call me selfish. Just not into it.

Hope you have a good Monday.

    BTW Happy belated birthday!!

  15. Never been to one, and have never been curious. It's just not something I'm interested in. But, for anyone else that is, more power to them. I don't judge, it's just not me.

Now, having said that.....should quite a few alcoholic beverages be consumed, and a group of friends say they want to go....I can't say I wouldn't go. (without the guys) Just for the fun of it. Would make a mighty "interesting" blog post if nothing else. (hehe)

  16. yah my husband and i have never been to one and plan on never going...sooo not into them..weird that people are!

  17. If my man wants to see a naked woman all he has to do is tell me. lol! Strip clubs always seem skanky to me.

  18. Looks like you had an amazing time at the strip club. I wonder if the stories I've heard about strip clubs are true, never been to one myself.

Though I must say, 9 out of 10 cases, you'll always end up going home alone from such clubs.. :)

  19. Been there, done that like a lot of other things long ago. Never felt the need to go again. Yawn...

  20. I think that it would be okay for guys to go. (Not a fan of the back room sex idea though!). But from what I understand, the front room is hands-off in most places.

I think that it would be okay for guys and girls to go together--but I think maybe it would be better if the guy wasn't oogling the stripper and the girlfriend felt foolishly left out of the picture. Instead the guy should be focusing on his girlfriend and the stripper together--only if the girlfriend were game, of course. And preferably FRONT ROOM behavior. :)

  21. eh...let the guys go during bachelor parties. Much better things to do as a couple!!

  22. totaaaaally with you on this babe! And glad your BF is supportive too!

I'm so glad most of the comments support your ideas too. Esp the men :) My boyf has been and i dont really like it. its sad and really not my cup of tea. men beyond 25 that are serious about their partners should respect it if the other person doesnt approve. grow up!

sure, hot women dancing naked is hot but not real! as someone else said: they just go home ALONE anyway! its skanky and base if men in relationships go. *rant over*

  23. What (almost) everyone else has said. It's gross.

  24. Hi, my name is Brigitte, I stay in Somerset West.

I feel the same way to. What makes me cross is the guys that go & then go home to their wives or girlfriends & then want to get all intimate with them.
