A little escapism...

(wish i was on this boat)

Today the weather is rather horrid, my shoulders feel a bit tense, my phone keeps ringing and the office walls feel like they may actually be closing in on me.....

On days like this I often start daydreaming of getting away. I imagine The Boyf and I being able to teleport to some relaxing, idyllic location - A place where city life and my daily routine can't find me. Somewhere where the water is crystal clear, the weather is warm and the pace is slow. *sigh*

I think I need a holiday and summer to arrive asap.

If you could teleport anywhere today, where would you go?

  2. Hmmm ... right now I'd love to go on a road trip with a guy. Not that I have anyone in mind. right now he is just this image. The outdoor type of guy. I just want him to drive ... We have no destination in mind. Just us and the road. We're laughing. Singing along to songs. And I'm taking pictures of him.

  3. I am in! I absolutely desperately need a holiday, just a couple of nights out will be enough, but better if it is abroad. I am tired of this sick routine!!

  4. I hear you on the weather side, it's making me miserable too! I think I would teleport back to my mom's house - I feel a need for someone to look after me a bit, in a way that only mom's can!

  6. Omdloti, Durban. My heart lies there and I ALWAYS relax and 'find myself' again when I'm there.

Good luck... to all of us.

  8. Right now, San Francisco. I'd love to be on holiday there at the moment. It's such a fabulous city, and perfect for holidays.

  9. Honestly, I would teleport to the farm, with my mates and girl friend, sitting on one of the plains, watching animals, drinking beer and talking sh#t...

    ...hold, that's happening next week!

    WOOHOOOOOO!

  10. I would teleport to Barbados with my hubby. I've never been on a true island vacation. Also, I haven't slept for more than 3 hours on any of the past 5 nights, and I require 8 hours of sleep a night to make sense. So if I were able to teleport, my first priority would be to not fall asleep under the sun.

  12. Oooh cool question, I was thinking Cape Town, but if the weather is bad, scrap that. I think I choose...

a remote island. don't know where this island is, but it has my name on it written in the sand.

  13. A colleague and I actually played this game too today!

I would go to a game lodge in the Timbavati - but not one of the commercial ones! A small one - just me and the wildlife! That is all!

  17. Um... anywhere by a lake for sure. Somewhere quiet with good company, quiet and the company of peopel who are totlally comfortable with themselves.... where we could cook and clean and have in depth conversations about nothings and somethings.

    I'd love to be there.

  18. We're heading to Branson, MO this weekend with my parents and our boys. I'm hoping it's relaxing and not stressful as like you, we could use a getaway.

  19. Exercise Brazen, exercise! I swear it takes all the Wintery blues away, especially on these days when it feels like Winter is just sticking around to taunt us. Raining through the sunshine? What is that?

But if I had to teleport myself, I'd choose a log cabin, an old fireplace, a good bottle of red wine, some insane music and a little kitten in my lap. Bliss!

  20. To the mountains. Cool, fresh air. Tall green trees. The sound of a mountain stream in the distance. Hummingbirds buzzing by.

    Ahhhh......

  23. I imagine reading a good book, or what I'm going to do when I get home. Ah. :)

This time of year is always very stressful to me. I take leave in Dec so it means that I've been working for months without a break. It can get a bit much.
