Movie moment

Baby: Me? I'm scared of everything. I'm scared of what I saw, I'm scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I'm scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I'm with you.

When i was younger, I always wished I could have been "Baby" in the final dance scene *chuckles*

Dirty Dancing is one of my favourite romance movies for a few reasons: its got forbidden love, a hot leading man, swoon-worthy moments, great dance scenes and a totally brilliant soundtrack. I think its time to watch it again :)

Note: I was so sad to hear the news that Patrick Swayze lost his battle with cancer yesterday - At least, like most great actors, he will live on in his films (Ghost, Dirty Dancing, Roadhouse, Point Break, etc.) and continue to win over millions of females every time he says "Nobody puts Baby in a corner".

  1. Ghost. Ghost is my all time Patrick film. That scene with Demi, the clay pots ... That was hot!

  2. In alot of ways I feel I lost more in the passing of Patrick Swayze than in the passing of MJ!

We watched Dirty Dancing over and over and over. We watched Ghost over and over and over!

We listened and danced to the music. We cried and laughed!

His movies were a part of my childhood!

    Sad :(

  3. Shame, it's very sad.

Dirty Dancing was effectively the birth film for chick flicks...and a cult film in it's own right.

I met a girl once who had never seen Ghost...I've never spoken to her since...it's the best guy/chick flik ever.

  11. I think I should go and watch that again now. It really was the first movie of its kind, and one that makes every girl go all mushy inside :)

So sad about Patrick S though, although he will be remembered for a very long time...

  12. It's so unbelievable. Can't believe his gone. This is definitely worse than MJ's death.

And yeah, I can watch his movies over and over again. It's timeless.

  13. His death, as well as Farrah's, are more news worthy than that other guys.

    RIP Patrick.

  18. As cheesy as some people think Dirty Dancing is, I always thought it has a lot to teach the audience about true love, sacrifice, putting yourself out there, and trust. Sigh. A forever fav, to be sure.

  19. I was very sad to read about Patrick Swayze's death too. He was a good actor. His song "She's like the wind" is one of my most favourite.
