Baby: Me? I'm scared of everything. I'm scared of what I saw, I'm scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I'm scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I'm with you.
When i was younger, I always wished I could have been "Baby" in the final dance scene *chuckles*
Dirty Dancing is one of my favourite romance movies for a few reasons: its got forbidden love, a hot leading man, swoon-worthy moments, great dance scenes and a totally brilliant soundtrack. I think its time to watch it again :)
Note: I was so sad to hear the news that Patrick Swayze lost his battle with cancer yesterday - At least, like most great actors, he will live on in his films (Ghost, Dirty Dancing, Roadhouse, Point Break, etc.) and continue to win over millions of females every time he says "Nobody puts Baby in a corner".

Ghost. Ghost is my all time Patrick film. That scene with Demi, the clay pots ... That was hot!
ReplyDeleteIn alot of ways I feel I lost more in the passing of Patrick Swayze than in the passing of MJ!
ReplyDeleteWe watched Dirty Dancing over and over and over. We watched Ghost over and over and over!
We listened and danced to the music. We cried and laughed!
His movies were a part of my childhood!
Sad :(
Shame, it's very sad.
ReplyDeleteDirty Dancing was effectively the birth film for chick flicks...and a cult film in it's own right.
I met a girl once who had never seen Ghost...I've never spoken to her since...it's the best guy/chick flik ever.
I sawDirty Dancing for the frist time at 12 years old.I fell in love with it.I would definetly watch it again and again.I litterally cried when i read the news about his death...Rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteIts so sad... I def feel like watching dirty dancing again and point break :)

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. I love Dirty Dancing, so very much.
ReplyDeleteYeah. It's really really sad. :( Point Break was an awesome movie.
ReplyDeleteI think I should go and watch that again now. It really was the first movie of its kind, and one that makes every girl go all mushy inside :)
ReplyDeleteSo sad about Patrick S though, although he will be remembered for a very long time...
It's so unbelievable. Can't believe his gone. This is definitely worse than MJ's death.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, I can watch his movies over and over again. It's timeless.
His death, as well as Farrah's, are more news worthy than that other guys.
ReplyDeleteRIP Patrick.
Patrick Swayze was an icon from my time. He will be missed. What a battle he fought with cancer.
ReplyDeleteI know, Dirty Dancing is one of my all-time favorites too. Fabulous soundtrack. Sigh.
ReplyDeletefound you via one of my followers RIP Patrick Swayze
ReplyDeleteit was very sad news
ReplyDeleteI'm sad he passed away. :(
ReplyDeleteI ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT MOVIE. I always watched it all the time when I was younger. I need to watch it again soon.
As cheesy as some people think Dirty Dancing is, I always thought it has a lot to teach the audience about true love, sacrifice, putting yourself out there, and trust. Sigh. A forever fav, to be sure.
ReplyDeleteI was very sad to read about Patrick Swayze's death too. He was a good actor. His song "She's like the wind" is one of my most favourite.
ReplyDeleteLoved that movie!
ReplyDeleteWho wouldn't want to be Baby?
It is terribly sad. I thought he had been doing better. I'm scared to mention it to my mother when I call her tomorrow. She loved him.
ReplyDeleteI so so sad to hear of his passing. That movie is such a pivotal point in my youth!
ReplyDeletei looooovvvveeee the movie dirty dancing, i have the dvd. it was such a shock to here that he had passed away. devistating.
ReplyDeleteClassic movie quote. He wasn't the best actor, but boy could he dance!
ReplyDeleteIts crazy though, the ammount of people who have passed on. Its no fun. I'm not much of a Dirty Dancing fan. For me it was alright.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree! my freshman year of college my roommates and I probably watched this movie at least 3 times a week! that and pretty women. It was such a great movie!
