When looking in my closet the other day I realised it was a rather poor reflection of my personality. Most of my clothes are safe basics and I hardly have any dresses or skirts.
I am now on a quest to dress more in a way that reflects who I am. I want more pretty pieces, bold accesories and alot more dresses. Right now my clothing is saying "hi, I'm practically plain Jane" when I want them to be saying something like "hello, I'm girly and chic "
>
I think for a while I forgot how important it is to have fun with your clothes and use your clothes to further express yourself (even if you have to do it on a limited budget).
What do your clothes say about you right now?
right no my clothes probably say, "she's poor, but is definitely making the best of it." hehe.
ReplyDeleteMine say i dont have enough money to buy the things i really want to wear! :)
ReplyDeleteYou can never go wrong with basics. All you need is the an assortment of accessories to dress them up. I'm trying to be more edgy. More rock and roll. More adventurous. More girly. And still be comfortable. Sexy, is not not the type of look I'm going for.
ReplyDeletemy cloths say, "hey, this girl loves to dance!"
ReplyDeleteoh mine say exactly what yours do... they are begging me to buy them friends that make them look better :) i need to invest some time in finding better outfits taht fit my personality
ReplyDeleteYay! Venture out sweet lady! It will be fun!
ReplyDeletethey say basic with a tiny bit of a twist or a bit of rock chick!
ReplyDeletei'd love to doll up a little but easily feel like a fraud when i do...but i'm getting there!xxx
My clothes say I like red white and black. They say I like comfort. They say I'm stuck in a rut.
ReplyDeleteBoring office worker right now. Plain otherwise with a girly hint sometimes. I'm trying to buy more dresses too :)
ReplyDeletesharptooth - Hooray! Let me know what you think ;) I cant wait for New Moon movie.
ReplyDeleteUhm, I totally fear that my clothes say just the same thing. Lots of basic, very little flair... but probably that reflects well how little I cared about these things at my last job, out of sheer exhaustion. Now I want my clothes to say something much more interesting... I'm working on it!
ReplyDeleteMy clothes say that I don't pay much attention to the way I dress..
ReplyDeleteOh dear!
To answer your question, my clothes probably say, 'He is a student and likes blue'
ReplyDeleteProbably just a guy thing but I really don't put all that much effort into thinking about what my clothes say about me...
Hmmm....old tees that need to be trashed.
ReplyDeleteDress pants that were washed too many times instead of dry cleaned.
crappy cheap shoes that are showing too much wear.
No jewelry to speak of....except for a pair of peace sign earrings that I just bought.
Only about a third of the stuff in my closet even FITS.
I would say mine say I hate my job but I'm not making much effort to find another. Maybe if I start buying some better clothes that will inspire me to get out of a job that doesn't "fit".
Thank you for reminding me of that. . . .
ReplyDeletethis is such a cool mission! i usually concentrate on trying to find stuff that FITS right, but it is good to have it ALL -- stuff that fits, flatters and reflects what you want it to!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the process of updating my wardrobe again, because I've worn everything out that I had been wearing. I'm opting for a lot more brave pieces than I used to, because my self esteem is stronger than it has ever been. More bright colours, bold designs, new shapes and lengths. It feels good.
ReplyDeleteChange is always good, even if it involves evolving your style! Love it!
ReplyDeletemine say i don't know how to shift from san diego to chicago weather - flip flops when it's forty five degrees? hmmm i need to work on this.. haha - loving the pink dress by the way!
ReplyDeleteMy clothes say "She clearly thinks she's one heck of a lot bigger than she is."
ReplyDeleteI wear a lot of jeans, and black. I have assorted styles of black tops/tshirts/blouses. I like my all star low tops and funky nail colours. I like gladiator sandals and my denim skirts.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what it says about me, but I also want a couple of dresses. (I never thought I'd say that)
My wardrobe definitely needs to be updated, the only thing that makes my outfits pop are my accessories, but they can only do so much. I really need to go shopping!
ReplyDeleteBoy can I relate. I spend so much time being inspired and drooling over all the pretty chic posts on others blogs. My wardrobe needs a big make over. It say nothing about who I am. The worst part is my daughter is a talented fashion design student, who always looks so stylish. Oh well...
ReplyDeleteHmmm I'm not sure - she's trying to experiment more? I am trying to wear my clothes in different ways and get more out of them.
ReplyDeleteSharptooth youth - Jacob is cool, but i'm "team Edward". Try read all the books and see if your team changes ;)
ReplyDeleteThat 'something' also hit me a few months ago! Since then I have been updating my cupboard with 'me'stuff and that feels GOOODD!! does wonders for self-confidence!
ReplyDelete:)
