Today I'm back at work and its rather depressing. I miss my afternoon naps already *winks*
Ive actually heard some people say stuff like: "oh, a nice holiday will make you feel all refreshed and ready to start work again".. I used to think "whatever" when i heard this and that these people were clearly delusional or had dream jobs - because, how could i ever feel ready to go back to my office job after a glorious, chilled holiday? But strangely some people do actually like their jobs alot (who knew). Now I see that my loathing and sadness about going back to work may be due to the fact that I'm probably in the wrong job -So...
I don't really do New Years resolutions...BUT this year Ive decided to make one. Its a biggie. This year my resolution is to find/create a job where i can work from home (or flexible hours), which will give me more free time to write (that's the dream, darlings). I will do what i must to try achieve this (pinkie swear).
Whats your biggest new years resolution?

Brilliant resolution! Go for it! Would love to aim for this too but don't think I'll be able to achieve it this year, maybe next year!x
ReplyDeleteYeah I need a new job too. I don't want to be here either. I was thinking that maybe this year is the year I start working on my book?
ReplyDeleteand i am sure you will! i have faith!

ReplyDeletegreat idea. i've been trying to do that for ages but nothing seems to be working. i still have the faith though. this could be the year! good luck! if you figure out how to do it, please let me know!
ReplyDeleteI really hope you achieve your goal this year...it's a great one! I can thoroughly recommend working from home :-)
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Gosh Brazen my resolution this year was born from the same thought. One shouldn't feel so depressed going back to work. We spend more time here than anywhere else! Good luck!
ReplyDeletewow! that's a very brave and beautiful goal! good luck!
ReplyDeleteMy new years resolution is to put more effort into me and not to keep busy. Just a bit. And one project at a time. It went down from three... and only start when I've finished one.
ReplyDeleteOkay thats more than one... but my heart is in the right place.
lol.
Hope your new years res works out. :D 2010 will be rocking!
Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteBrazen... I feel your pain and totally relate.
I'm the only 1 at work today feeling exactly how I did last year... No wait- worse- because now I remember what it's like to have all that time for ME and to do what I want.
I don't do resolutions either, but my goal is also to get a new job... Or else a padded cell will be my next home in a few months!
Good luck with yours... Look forward to the journey!
Getting a new job is also on my list for this year!
ReplyDeleteAnd find a new home for us!
Two biggies I think!
It seems from the comments that you are SO NOT ALONE.
ReplyDeleteWow, must be hectic to be in a job you hate....i was so lucky that I LOVED all the jobs I ever had (except my very first one) before doing the SAHM thang.
This year I have to *decide* if I want to work again as all three my kidlets in school til 1pm!!! Waahhh, first time in almost 9yrs that I have my mornings to myself - WICKED EH?
My resolution is to get a new job... it was mine for 2009 too and didn't happen :( It MUST for 2010!
ReplyDeleteHappy new year :)
PS: I have a new year, new giveaway on my blog.
Good luck! : )
ReplyDeleteThis year, I made a resolution to not make any resolutions...
I think that's a great resolution. Mine is to do what it takes to be happier.
ReplyDeleteWhats my New Year's Resolution? You stole mine.....give it back!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck Brazen! Seems we have similar goals for this year - difference being I don't have a job having just moved to a new country so perfect time to create the perfect one right?
ReplyDeleteI think that's a great resolution. I have a lot of different ones but the biggest is to lose weight
ReplyDeletethis was my first day back as well, after 3 weeks off.
ReplyDeletei do NOT feel refreshed..
Wow, that's a biggie! But you can do it! Otherwise you'll have to answer to all of us ;)
ReplyDeleteMine is to avoid slipping back into a comfort zone, keep growing, keep working, keep LIVING.
I dont think we really live enough and I don't want my life to be a long sleeping while I wait for someting to happen!
I share in that one too!! And I would LOVE to relocate ... for some odd reason ... Strange for me, if you know me. =D
ReplyDeleteGood luck and make it happen sweetie!!!
fantastic idea!
ReplyDeleteI just want a new job, I don't think i'd do much from home!
