Movie thoughts: Eat Pray Love
For those of you who are not familiar with the bestselling book, here is a bit about the film: Eat Pray Love is the true story of a woman (Elizabeth Gilbert) who, after getting a divorce and realising that her passion for life (and most other things) is slipping away, goes on a year long globe-trot to try find spiritual enlightenment and herself.
I must admit that when I went to see this film last night, I had great expectations going in and thankfully I did not leave dissapointed. I loved the film and was captivated until the end (even though it is over 2 hours long and is rather slow paced throughout)
The movie is filled with beautiful scenery (that instantly made me feel the urge to take a trip to anywhere exotic), good advice, inspiration and an abundance of likeable characters. Julia Roberts is outstanding as Liz Gilbert and it is impossible not to love Javier Bardem as the caring Brazilian, Felipe.
I think this is a wonderfully honest chick flick. I would highly recommend it to all woman (whether you have read the book or not).
Have you seen the film? what did you think?
