Music crush: The Civil Wars

 
At the moment I am loving American folk /country duo The Civil Wars. Besides having great voices, the band's lyrics are so honest and their music is filled with emotion.

Their full album, Barton Hollow, was released in 2011 to rave reviews and this year the band won the Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance & Best Folk Album. If you haven't already, I highly recommend that you give them a listen.

While I really like most of the songs on the album, 'Barton Hollow' and 'Poison & Wine' are definitely my two favourites. Random fact: recently 'Poison & Wine' was used on an episode of The Vampire Diaries - you can check out the music video for it below:

    I love The Civil Wars so much. Recently downloaded a little album recorded live with their banter between songs they are delightful. While this seems like spam, its not :) Noisetrade is a legit free download site, lots of unknown bands and occassionally some known ones like Civil Wars.http://noisetrade.com/thecivilwars
