The Dalebrook Cafe

Recently I visited the "new kid on the block" in Kalk Bay, the Dalebrook Cafe, and it is definitely a welcomed addition to the neighbourhood.

The Food:

First off, and most importantly, the food was scrumptious and I will definitely be heading back to try more of it ( I had the health salad with Yellow Tail & crushed potatoes and hubby had the calamari - both pictured above)

The breakfast & lunch menu had a plethora of delicious options, including vegan and vegetarian fare. There is a definite focus on providing food that is healthy, uncomplicated and made with seasonal ingredients.

Not only can you sit down and enjoy being served in the cafe, but you can also pop in to pick up some freshly baked treats or healthy snacks.

The deli sells a range of homemade food (pies, cakes, breads & ready-prepared meals) and a choice selection of grocery items.

Top tip: Grab a coffee or a homemade ice-cream before heading to the Dalebrook pool across the road.

A little bit about it:

After the success of Chardonnay Deli in Constantia, Charmaine Lilje was inspired to open another space and decided to bring her love of food to the 'deep south'....and the Dalebrook Cafe was born.

Housed in historic building that was built in 1895,  the restaurant has a rustic and relaxed feel about it. The vibe is made even better by the fact the well-loved Dalebrook tidal pool is across the road, along with the beautiful  False Bay coastline.

Side note: there are self managed lockers available for those who want to go for a swim and  need somewhere to leave stuff.

The Cafe & Deli are open 7 days a week. For booking or enquiries, contact 083 326 0184
