Me: I got your e-mail about the run. Why does it say plus one next to your name?
The Boyf: Oh, I put your name down to do it too.
Me: haha. Good one, honey. So who's really running with you?
The Boyf: You are . Don't worry though its more of a walk than a run. It will probably be alot of fun.
Me: Then why does it say "run" on poster? Its misleading. The word "walk" would really make me think happier thoughts.
The Boyf: *laughs* we can walk most of it if you like
Me: ummm....or maybe I can just meet you at finish line?
I'm a bit concerned, Ive never done one of these things before. Tonight I better go for a jog to see just how unfit I am (i wonder if i will even make it 2 blocks?). Who knows maybe it will turn out to be fun and then I can take 10km runs off my list of "things to never ever do" *grins* . wish me luck.
10km is not too bad and you can walk if you're struggling to keep up - my boyfriend would ZOOM off so I'd probably walk. Take in the scenery and enjoy the day, then it won't be too bad :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck
There's a run happening on Sunday? I know how you feel. My friends are trying to drag me hiking tonight. All I want to do is watch more episodes of The Wire.
ReplyDeletegood luck
ReplyDeleteGood luck! Shame! Brave Girl!!!
ReplyDeleteGet a pair of roller skates...no one would see it coming! ;)
ReplyDeleteoh dear! I've agreed to a 10k on 22 December and I'm already having second thoughts! I think I may also be a part of the run/walk team! Let us know how it goes!
ReplyDeleteWow good luck, I have never run that far... I think I would die!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I'm sure you'll be inspired to run once you get there and see everyone :-) have fun!
ReplyDeleteDude - good luck with that.
ReplyDeleteWell that is a nice surprise. Tell your BF next time he can surprise you with a romantic dinner. LOL
ReplyDeleteGoodluck Sunday.
for this sunday??? this certainly does not give you a lot of time to train! hope you have a nice walk :)
ReplyDeleteYOu may be surprised. I have quite a few people on my circle who are able to just sommer run 10km without training. (they cant walk for a week after but that is beside the point right now!)
ReplyDeleteI am not a distance runner - I dont have great endurance but I have not found many people who can beat me in a sprint! ;-)
This may be a good thing to spark your inner gym bunny - whatever happens - jsut enjoy the fresh air and your healthy body!
Hope the run goes ok, I've given you an award on my blog :)
ReplyDeleteGood thing you saw it...wonder when he was going to fill you in on the surprise?
ReplyDeleteHave a good run...er, walk!
Don't worry lady! Take turns running when you can, and walking when you feel too tired, with only one goal in mind: Reach The Finish. You will feel insanely good about your participation!
ReplyDeleteI did a 5km charity "run" earlier this year....there were so many participants that we were shuffling along most of the time, forget even walking!
ReplyDeleteGood luck....it'll be fun :-)
Wow, good luck! I'm sure you'll manage, and it is one of those things that everyone should do at least once (and i never ever will, hence the preachiness). Enjoy the pre-run run!
ReplyDeleteYou will enjoy the run/walk.
ReplyDeleteIt will be exhilarating and will probably become a yearly participation for you.
Be sure to wear supportive running/walking shoes.
(So unlike me to have a "Mom" moment.)
Have fun!
Good luck! Stay behind the boyf and focus on his butt the whole time and it'll go by faster. ; )
ReplyDeleteStress not! I did one the other...I nearly said day, but it was more like month...And it was actually a lot of fun! I came 316th! And you really don't have to do all that much running...
ReplyDeletethanks everyone for the support x
ReplyDeletethis is actually really cool! maybe you might even end up enjoying it, anyway, good luck ^^
ReplyDeleteNote: I made a mistake with my original post and said the run is on Sunday - its actually on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteYour boyfriend's brazenness rocks! I'm sure you'll do fine - just don't start out too quickly.
