I went to gym this morning (true story)

This morning (even though I have the day off work and I love a good sleep-in) I was in my gym clothes, sweating on a machine before it was even 7am.

For those of you who don't know me at all, I think I should mention  that I am not a morning person (or a huge fan of gym) and have not attempted a morning gym session in quite sometime (think year, not month)...so this really is a blog-worthy piece of news *grins*

Truthfully, the whole morning gym experience was not at all as horrid as I had convinced myself it would be (though there was a half asleep moment on the treadmill where I almost fell off) and now I don't have to worry about fitting gym in this evening (which is lovely) -Plus, It has made me feel very perky and accomplished all day.

I may...(dare I say it)....go to gym tomorrow morning..

When do you prefer to go to gym (if you go)?

  1. I am a morning gym person. But this morning was tough. I laid out my clothes, ipod & and bag ready to go but just couldn't make it out of bed. Mondays are especially tough. After that though, find it easier. I also go to a 7 am class which helps.

My fave time is around lunch time till 2 or 11-1 basically right in the middle of the day! Then you can always sqeeze in lunch at kauai and the most interesting people come that time as well (people with weird or no jobs) xx

  3. WELL DONE!! Im also not a gym/exercise or morning person & my gym partner and general motivator recently moved to PE (I live in CT) and I have not been able to drag my sorry butt to gym since. But when I do go I prefer mornings in summer (And when I say prefer I mean hate but its better than the afternoon) and then suffer through arvies in winter. Keep up the good work, perhaps I will go this week as well :)

  4. Well done you! I've temporarily given up on the gym... though I know I should go back. It hurts too much!

  5. Congrats girl! I would love to go mornings, but just not possible right now. I go lunch times, mostly, or after the kids are in bed.

  6. I don't think I could ever get up in the morning and go to the gym. I wake up at the last minute possible in order for me to get ready for work. I go in the evenings after work.

  7. Seems like a lot of us are trying to get out and get fit. I started day 1 of 21 last night, 21 days of running :)

  8. In college I used to get up at 5 am & work out. (& then drink all afternoon but that is another story!). I loved the way it made so full of energy. Now I wake up early & do laundry & read blogs. moral of the story: I need a free gym within walking distance.

  9. Good job! I have been trying to take classes and do different things to work out and not get bored. Right now it's pilates, a weekly ballet class, and zumba!

  10. Congratulations on doing that!!! I can't do that at all even though I want to. I can always tell myself that I will go right before I go to bed then when I wake up in the morning... it's a totally different story. But since I can't..I work out at night because I don't want to be too exhausted/sore at work all day if I did go to the gym in the mornings.

  11. Go you. :) I'm not sure I'd be able to do that. I can barely get up if I have something FUN to do.

Hope you're having a good day off!

  12. That is remarkable esp considering you could have slept in and gone later. Well done.

I tend to fit it in when I can but given the choice I am a 9-10 sorta gym bunny...the later the day gets the more my determination wanes. :-)

  14. Well done, Brazen! I'm very impressed. It isn't easy and this I say from a position of experience, in managing to get up on some days but more than often, not.

Keep it up! You'll never regret it :)

  15. Mid-morning for me. Fortunately, my telecommuting schedule permits that. I cannot do early morning right when I wake up, and late afternoon after work I'm so unmotivated. But, every day at 10:00, I'm either at the gym lifting weights or at water aerobics. It works out just perfectly. Stick with it, girl!

  16. Well done! I go in the mornings sometimes but I find it makes me not as productive during the day. I like to go at night, after dinner when it's relatively quiet and I can think over my day.
