  1. My habby once made a heart on the bed out of flowers. It was sooooo romantic and a huge surprise... He is kind of tough guy and I would never ever imagine him doing something that sweet.

  2. The most romantic thing anyone has ever done is surprise me with a beautiful picnic in the mountains near a waterfall and stream. Wine, picnic food and romantic swims!

  3. The most romantic thing anyone [my current boyfriend] has done for me is respecting my vow of celibacy. We won't be having sex before marriage, and he honours that completely. I don't know many men who would :)

This gorgeous lingerie will be great for future honeymooning ;)

  5. I have two:

The first one is my first love. I used to make him sarmies for work and I'd make ham and cheese and cut the cheese into shapes spelling out I ♥ U or various other sexy notes. He loved them.

The second one I did as a surprise for my Boerewors last year. I took him on an overnight stay and we got up before sunrise to take a very early morning Hot Air Balloon ride over Magaliesburg. He was thrilled to bits and it was VERY romantic.

  6. Having been rather unlucky in the romance department, I hope it still counts if I supply a little comic relief instead of moonlight and roses. My first serious boyfriend made dinner for me on Valentine's Day at his new apartment. When I presented him with a handmade card after dinner, he said "Oh, I have something for you too, but you've already seen it" and dashed off to his bedroom to fetch it. He did not emerge, as suspected, wearing nothing but a strategic bow, but with a Mr Price Home packet. I opened it to find...ice trays. Ice trays we had bought together, the day before, when I was under the impression that they were for his new flat. They weren't even heart shaped! I am generally single on Valentine's Days, but each year I comfort myself that at least any Valentine's Day is better than that one! :)

  7. Being in a long distance relationship, we try to make every moment spent together as memorable as possible. Last year The Captain planned a weekend at Indigo Bay, Bazaruto Archipelago- without me having to do anything except turning up at the airport!

The Captain hates long walks on the beach and quiet romantic dinners - the more, the merrier - but spent the whole weekend catering to my every whim. Horse riding on the dunes, spa treatments, skinny dipping - noem dit en ons doen dit! We flew per helicopter to Paradise Island (aka Santa Carolina) where a picnic on the beach awaited us, and we snorkeled in the clear blue waters of the marine national park.

Whenever the distance apart drives us mad, we reminisce about that special weekend and have been back twice after to recapture that heady in-love feeling.

  9. A few years ago while working in a small village in the UK I met a lovely boy from New Zealand. I was rather confused when he phoned me at 3am and demanded I meet him outside. It was snowing! My first proper snow and our first kiss in middle of a snowfall. Incredibly romantic.

  10. It was a couple of years ago and the guy I had my eyes on was taking me at the train station (I had to return home to my parents for a few days) after a really bad week of arguments and some tears on both parts. Anyway, I was boarding on the train when he took my hand and slipped in it a single chocolate, my favorite brand that come with a love message wrapped around it. I was speechless! He hadn't tried to talk to me about the stressful past week, old arguments and bad words uttered. But he gave me his little present and then fixed his stunning blue eyes in mine, asking to put everything behind us and start from there, without making a single sound. No one had ever been so sweet, so thoghtful in such a little way. I am the kind of girl that finds joys and faults in small things, little details. He read me so right! So for me it was really as they say "sometimes words aren't needed" or something like that. Till now, it still is the most romantic thing someone has done for me.

Wonderful giveaway! I have a soft spot for lingerie :P

  17. Ohh I'd love to win this! They do such lovely lingerie sets. The most romantic thing.. my boyfriend, Luke, wrote me a letter for every day we were separated whilst I was on the other side of the world, so I could read it each morning I woke up so it would seem like he was there with me :)

  18. I love McDonald's fries but my favourite tomato sauce is Wimpy's. (I know, I know... don't be judgy-judgy now...) Anyway, a boy who used to have a crush on me once drove to McDonalds to buy me an extra large fries and then all the way to Wimpy to bring it to me with packets of their sauce. Awww... Anyway, the fact that this is the most romantic thing a boy's ever done for me is kinda sad actually (hee hee) so perhaps you can take pity on me and award me that prize? X x x

  22. My husband never given me flowers when we were still sweethearts but he surprise me one time on my birthday, when i went home he was holding a beautiful big bouquet of flowers on one hand and red wine on the other. He said that he has not prepared any gift for me, only his heart and a promise, he then handed me the flowers and told me that it is time that we should get married.

simple but truly beautiful and memorable.

  23. The day before my birthday last month, Hubby took our 4 kids shopping. When I woke up on my birthday, he had them all bring me my presents while he brought me a cup of coffee and they sang Happy Birthday to me. Each of them (ages 9, 8, 3 and almost 2) had chosen something for me by themselves. I loved how he'd included the kids in the moment. :)

  24. Rose petals, chocolates, candlelight and champagne... yawn, how lame.

I'm an astronomy nut. One night I mentioned offhand: 'the International Space Station will be flying right over us in about 20 minutes." My husband scooped me and the kids up, dumped us in the car and then raced out into the night to the Cradle of Humankind which is close to our house. He stopped the car, we got out, he put his arms around me - and just at that moment the brightly lit space station appeared over the horizon and we watched it travel across the stars. Just us, the chirping crickets, and the quiet of the bushveld.

    Now that's romance.

  25. The most romantic time of my life was when I returned to South Africa after spending 3 months in my home country Australia. My new boyfriend surprised me at the airport with balloons, flowers, champagne and a big "I love you never leave me again"..4 Years later and I still have not been apart.

  26. I flew to Australia to visit my then boyfriend. He whisked me off to the Sunshine Coast to a lake which had a boutique B&B. The whole place was tree houses. Our place was a tree house 8m high off the ground overlooking the lake with a hot tub with the best view ever. Possums even came to the house in the evenings. Most romantic 3 days of my life so far. Maybe this lingerie will make the next trip with someone as special. Have liked the FB page and following on Twitter.

  34. The most romantic thing my man has ever done for me .... is arrange a romantic lunch, which wasn't really a lunch - It was a helicopter flip over magaliesberg, with a proposal on landing. I could not have asked for a better wedding proposal ever!

  35. The most romantic thing...I cannot pick only one. I am not into candles and flowers and things, but small thoughtful things are really romantic. Every day my partner goes out of his way to support me, love me and do something just to make my day easier. I appreciate it so much. One time, I broke the zip on my all time favourite pair of boots, and could not find a new pair in store. He secretly took my boots from my room (without me knowing), had it fixed and gave to me all fixed up, looking brand new! And it was just in time for winter! Things like that are romantic to me. We have also been saving ourselves for marriage, so this will be a nice surprise for the honeymoon!

  36. When my hubby was courting me he was full of romantic things - but overall the most romantic thing was the fact that he would drive from Margate to Durban most weekends to see me and book into a BnB or somewhere to stay.

For our 13th anniversary this year, he took me to Turkey. We had a wonderful time going on boat rides, visiting palaces and experiencing Turkish delights!

  46. It's not so much what he did than the expression on his face as he did it. The gift was something sweet and simple, flowers or a book I wanted. After some obvious "clues" to the surprise, he would finally hand it over. He is so excited, beaming and practically dancing. And the extreme happiness when he knows I enjoyed the gift. THAT is the best part.

  52. My now husband proposed to me on valentines day. He acted like valentines day was silly and a complete media display. I had no expectations what-so-ever. When all of a sudden there were roses, chocolates, teddies, champagne and I was asked to close my eyes for my surprise, i was already overwhelmed and couldn't imagine what else there could be. Next thing i opened my eyes and he was down on one knee with an open box in his hand and asked me to marry him. Wowzers. He planned a romantic night out after without me knowing anything about it, all my friends and family were in on it. It was the most romantic day of my life.

  55. The most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me has to be the night I got engaged, my hubby to be blind folded me while we were on holiday in Cape town, he then put me in limo and we drove to Blou Berg Strand, where the sun was starting to set and a picnic was laid out on the beach for both of us, with strawberries and cream, champaigne the works, and as he took the blindfold of the band started playing for us! And as I started sipping on my champers there in the bottem my engagement ring floated and as I looked up he was on his knee with red roses and asked the big Question! The best day of my life!

  56. I met my husband whilst I was still living in the UK and we had to have a long distance relationship with us only ever being able to see each other for 3months at a time because of my British passport. He knew how hard it was for me and so after finishing a particularly gruesome set of exams. He surprised me with plane tickets to JHB where he met me and then took me to the Kruger for a week. Best after-exam celebration ever!

My current boyfriend live in Durban, and I study in Pretoria. For our one month anniversary, he found out which coffee shop makes my favourite cupcakes, and had them custom make my favourite flavour, to be delivered to me on the day. It was so sweet, and so thoughtful - I was amazed that he had even remembered all of my favourites!

I commented on the After Eden Facebook page, and mentioned the competition on Twitter, @LeeGeldenhuys.
